Signs You Need to Schedule AC Repairs

outside unit of an air conditioner with tools and hands resting on topWhen you live somewhere like Palm Beach Gardens, you are going to enjoy more even weather patterns throughout the majority of the year. This is great until you remember that it translates to days, weeks, and months of temperatures in the 80s paired with high humidity. What that means is that you need to have an air conditioner that you can rely on.

The question is, does your air conditioner have the ability to keep up with your demands this summer? If it has a repair need, the answer, sooner or later, will be no. Ideally, you will want to be able to detect when your system needs to be fixed up before it breaks down. To do that, you need to know what to look for.

4 Indicators That Your AC Needs Repairs

There are going to be several different indicators that you can keep your eyes and ears peeled for to determine if and when your air conditioner might need to be repaired. Consider it if you may have noticed one or more of the following signs of trouble:

  1. Loud, concerning noises: Some AC systems run silently and others run with a small amount of noise but none of them should be making loud, concerning noises. If you start hearing sounds like screaming, screeching, clanking, hissing, clicking, or rattling, you have every right to be concerned. These sounds are all indicators of trouble.
  2. Inconsistent temperatures: If you have spots or rooms in your home that you can’t quite seem to cool off, it is a sign that something is up with your cooling system. This could be due to blower fan problems or a sign that your ductwork has a problem. Whatever the cause, don’t write off those hotspots–use them as a reminder that you need to schedule repairs.
  3. An icy air conditioner: All too often, people mistake ice on their air conditioner as a sign that their system is keeping things really cold. The reality is that ice on your unit is a sign that your AC is actually struggling to do its job, either due to poor airflow or leaking refrigerant.
  4. Spiking energy bills: Yes your energy bills are going to reflect your use of your air conditioner. With that said,  that doesn’t mean you should write off huge spikes in your monthly dues. Monthly bills that are larger than they should be should serve as a sign that something is up with your air conditioning system and the issues need to be resolved before it ends up costing you far more than you plan for.

If you need to schedule AC repairs in the near future, don’t delay! The busy season in Florida only gets busier as the temperatures hit their peak. instead, reach out for air conditioner repairs in Palm Beach Gardens as soon as you notice any of the signs we listed above so you can ensure that you’ll be able to enjoy a cool and comfortable summer season.
