Help! I Have Hot Spots in My Home!

While much of the country is gearing up for the onslaught of winter weather heading their way, we here in Florida are still going to be running our air conditioners for quite a while. While the weather may be cooling off a bit, we’re still hovering in the mid-80’s, meaning that your air conditioner still has plenty of work to do. Even this late in the season, it is vitally important that you not ignore any signs of trouble with your home cooling system. One of the most annoying that you may encounter is the development of hot spots throughout the house. If you find that you are unable to cool your home evenly, let us know. The Royal Palm Beach, FL air conditioning pros at Envirotech Air Quality Services are always happy to help.

Worst Case Scenario: Improper Sizing

Has your air conditioner always failed to cool your home in an even and effective manner, leaving hot spots throughout? If so, then it is possible that your system is simply not of a sufficient size for meeting and satisfying the cooling demands of your home. This is a bit of  a worst case scenario, as an improperly sized AC really does need to be replaced to resolve the situation entirely. Fortunately, if this is a new development, then it is highly unlikely that an improperly sized system is to blame.

Damaged Ductwork

If your air ducts are not well sealed, or are damaged in any way, then it is possible that they are leaking the air cooled by your AC into areas of the home where it is not really needed. This can cause efficiency to plummet, and can be the cause of your hot spots. We can seal, repair, and, if necessary, replace your ductwork for you. Contact us to learn more.

Insufficient Insulation

Insulation is not just for keeping warm air in your home. It is also necessary for keeping heat from infiltrating your living space. If you have areas of your home which lack sufficient insulation, then you are going to wind up struggling to cool those areas successfully. Dial our number today if you notice that certain areas of your home are less cool and comfortable than others.
