3 Ways to Help Your HVAC

heating-and-cooling-vent-high-on-wallKeeping your home cool and comfortable when you live in Florida is no easy feat. Thankfully, you have our team on your side to help you accomplish this task. With the help of our expert air conditioner services, we can keep your Fort Lauderdale, FL HVAC system working effectively and efficiently.

We are happy to help keep you comfortable all year long but did you know there is more than one way to help out your air conditioning system? We aren’t saying you should attempt a repair on your own (that’s a job best left to us) but there are things you can do to help reduce wear and tear and improve your AC operation small ways.

3 Ways You Can Assist Your Air Conditioner This Summer

We enjoy helping our customers stay comfortable during the Florida summer season. Aside from our effective AC services, we also provide helpful information to equip you with tips to help you boost your comfort just a bit more without costing extra cash.

Add the following tips to your to-do list to give your air conditioner a helping hand this season:

  1. Keep your filters and vents clean: Have you checked a vent in your home and found it was coated in dirt and dust? When was the last time you pulled out your AC filter to see if it was clear? These are important questions to ask–clogged filters and vents are going to hinder your comfort and reduce your air quality. Make sure to wipe your vents down and check your air filter every few months to see if it needs to be replaced or cleaned.
  2. Make sure your ducts are in good condition: Your ducts are the delivery system for the cooled air that your AC system produces. If there is a problem with your ductwork, it will impact your home comfort. If you notice reduced or incredibly dusty airflow, make sure to reach out for duct services like duct cleaning, sealing, and repair.
  3. Keep your thermostat settings reasonable: It can be tempting to see how low the temperature can go on your thermostat when the climate is exceedingly hot and humid outside. However, this doesn’t benefit you or your AC system. Try to keep your thermostat set between 75 and 78°F throughout the day. This is recommended by the Department of Energy because it optimizes comfort and efficiency.
