What to Look for in an Air Conditioning Repair Service

Friday, June 27th, 2014

When your air conditioning needs repair, searching around for an air conditioning repair service can be nerve-wracking. Whether something seems to be working incorrectly or your system won’t turn on, you should call a technician as soon as possible to get your AC back to normal and keep you feeling cool and comfortable. You want to call someone who can answer your questions accurately and professionally and provide you with the services you need to get your system back in working order. But how do you know which repair service to call?

If you live in Lake Worth, FL and are currently dealing with an air conditioning system that needs repair, don’t wait to contact a trained technician. If you don’t know what to look for in an AC contractor, Envirotech Air Quality Services has put together this guide so that you can find the right specialist for your repair needs.

Trained Specialists

When you call an air conditioning repair service, you want the technician who visits your home to be trained in every aspect of AC repair. The HVAC specialist you contact should have experience and training with your specific type of system. For example, if you have a ductless mini split system, you don’t want to talk to a technician who is only trained in central AC systems. Furthermore, contractors who are highly trained not only fix the problem; they can also recommend services to prevent similar problems from occurring in the future.

Professionalism

When contacting an AC repair technician, you want to speak with someone who will answer your questions with professionalism. Even something that seems like a small repair issue could turn into a whole-system breakdown later on, so you want a technician who takes your concerns seriously. If you have a damaged part in your AC system, you’ll want to know whether it has affected any other parts of your air conditioner and whether it may cause affect your system in the future. A professional technician will not only fix the problem, but will also check for other issues to ensure your system is running smoothly.

For quality air conditioning repair in Lake Worth, Envirotech Air Quality Services has highly-trained, professional, licensed technicians waiting for your call. Contact us today and schedule your next service appointment.

Problems with the Blower Array in Your Air Conditioner

Friday, June 20th, 2014

Here in Wellington, air conditioning repair services must deal with all manner of problems. That includes the blower and fan array, which pushes cooled air out of the AC system and into the ducts leading through your home. Problems with the blower array in your air conditioner are often just as problematic as problems with the refrigerant or compressor mechanism. Without the blower, the cool air can’t reach your home, and the air conditioner might as well be useless. The good news is that the causes of those problems are centered in a few very specific places.

Most of the time, problems with the blower array stem from the fan motor, which suffers from the same difficulties that any other motor does. If too much strain is placed on it, it will overload and shut down. (A reset button is located on the motor in the event that this is a one-time occurrence.) It can also encounter problems with frayed electrical wires and faulty connectors, which will disrupt power to the motor, and the fan belt may become frayed as well, preventing the moor for effectively turning the fan blades.

In some cases, the fan blades themselves may be the problem. If they are knocked out of alignment, or get bent or broken, the air won’t flow the way it should. (The turning blades may also damage nearby components as well.) Blades can also be damaged by twigs or other debris that slip in through the vents and get caught in the turning mechanism. In these instance, the technician usually needs to replace the fan blades completely, though sometimes it’s enough simply to clear the blockage from the turning mechanism.

No matter what the problems are with the blower array, you need a trained professional to handle them properly. And the experts at Envirotech Air are here to help. AC repair is a core part of our air conditioning service in Wellington, FL and we have experience handling blower problems of all varieties. If you have any questions or concerns about the performance of your blower array, then give us a call. You’ll be glad you did!

Things to Look for With an Air Conditioning Installation Service

Friday, June 13th, 2014

As we head into the hot season, you may be thinking it’s time for a new or replacement air conditioning installation for your West Palm Beach, FL property. Buying a new air conditioner is a multi-step process, and should be done with trained professionals to ensure you buy an air conditioner that provides the proper level of cooling needed for your home. For over 30 years, Envirotech Air Quality Services has been installing air conditioning in West Palm Beach, FL, and we have a few tips for you to consider before purchasing.

Things to Consider with a New Air Conditioner

There are several different things to consider when purchasing a new air conditioner:

  • Types of air conditioners available for your property – there are several types of air conditioners available for residential homes, all of which can cool effectively – but knowing which one is best for your property takes more than knowing cooling capacity. Understanding your choices can help determine which type of air conditioner would be best for your home.
  • Knowing how to calculate for proper size – there is one important question that needs to be answered when calculating for the right-size air conditioner: how much cooling does your property really need to stay comfortable? This question requires the calculation of several factors, including insulation levels, square footage, daytime heat gain and more. Failure to complete these important calculations before purchasing a new air conditioner can mean the difference between being comfortable and uncomfortable in your home.
  • Inspect your duct system – just having a duct system does not mean it is ideal for cooling, particularly if the ducts are fairly old. You also need to know what kind of condition your ducts are in, as faulty ductwork can result in up to a 30% air loss. A thorough inspection of your ductwork prior to purchasing an air conditioner is an important step in the installation process.
  • Work with a qualified company – installing an air conditioning system requires knowledge of many mechanical items, special tools and the ability to troubleshoot quickly. A qualified company like Envirotech Air Quality Services does this kind of work every day, ensuring a sound installation for all our customers.

Your air conditioning service in West Palm Beach should be a successful experience that helps your home be as comfortable as possible. How to Prepare for New Air Conditioning Installation

Friday, June 6th, 2014

You’ve decided to retire your old air conditioner and take advantage of a new, efficient system for the summer. We think that’s a great idea, and we want to help you make the most of your new air conditioning installation in Lake Worth, FL. We have some advice on what you should do to prepare for installation that will make sure you end up with the right system working the best that it can.

Envirotech Air Quality Services has helped people achieve superior home comfort since 1987. We have the skill and the experience you need for a great installation of the system that will keep you satisfied for many years to come.

Here are steps to take to prepare for new AC installation

  • Hire quality, licensed installation professionals: We can’t stress this enough: air conditioning installation is neither a “do-it-yourself” project nor one for an amateur team. You need experience and you need professionalism, or else you risk a system that won’t work well, will require years of repairs to keep it running, and will waste money through inefficient operation. Look to the experts instead: they will take care of the job fast and right the first time.
  • Have the system correctly sized: You cannot simply select the largest air conditioner you can afford and expect it to handle the job. An AC that is too large is as much a problem as one that is too small. To find the right size, look to professionals to perform a heat load calculation, which will determine how much cooling power your home needs to reach the comfort level you want.
  • Sign up for a maintenance program: What, sign up for maintenance before the system is even installed? Yes, absolutely. If you take care of this chore now, you’ll have one less thing to worry about in the future: the installers can arrange for the annual visit from a technician to tune-up and inspect the air conditioner to make sure it runs its best. Plus, most maintenance programs offer benefits and discounts.
